SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Two veterans of the Salvation Army will lead the organizations programs in Springfield.

Majors Michael and Judy Mills are succeeding Majors Norman and Claire Granger, who led the local Corps for 10 years.  The local chapter serves Greene and Christian counties.

The Mills have been with the Salvation Army for more than three decades.  Their most recent appointment was at the College for Officer Training in Chicago.  They have served in Illinois, Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, Kansas and South Dakota.

"There is such a spirit of collaboration, not just among the non-profits, but the entire community," Michael Mills said in a statement provided by the organization.  "We looked forward to the next several years of living and working here."
