SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- High school students trying to decide what to do with their lives now have a better idea of whether nursing is for them.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- High school students trying to decide what to do with their lives now have a better idea of whether nursing is for them.

Friday, Missouri State University hosted its annual Nurse for a Day workshop.

The high school students who attended got to take part in hands-on activities inside the nursing simulation center.

They also toured campus and heard from nurses about what the profession is really like.

"The Nurse for a Day program offers them the opportunity to find out what direction they want to go in into college,” says Kami Gollhofer, MSU nursing academic advisor. “Anytime you have a competitive entry major, like nursing, it's good to get as much of a head start as you possibly can."

MSU's nursing program has a 100 percent job placement rate for graduates.
