SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The mother of a two-month-old boy has been sentenced to life (30 years)  in prison after she pleaded guilty to suffocating him to death.

Online court records show that Titianna Light, 27, was sentenced Friday for second-degree murder by Circuit Judge Michael Cordonnier.

She was charged in October, 2010, after police were called to her home at 2002 N. Travis in Springfield where the child was found dead.

Probable cause reports say Light initially claimed she put her son down for a nap, then returned to find he had rolled over on his stomach, and she found him not breathing.

Court documents show Light confessed to the murder, telling investigators she held pillows over the infant's face for about one hour, continuing until he was no longer breathing or moving.
