MO. Lotto Generates Millions for Public Education Fund

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.-- Public education in Missouri has received over $20 million from The Missouri Lottery for the month of June.
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.-- Public education in Missouri has received over $20 million from The Missouri Lottery for the month of June.

The Missouri Lottery today transferred more than $21.1 million to the Lottery Proceeds Fund for public education.

The monthly transfer, based on Lottery tickets sales in May, totaled over $21 million and it brings the amount sent to education during the fiscal year of 2014 to $267.3 million.

Since Missouri Lottery sales started in 1986 the lottery has generated more than $4.8 billion for the state and public education.

Programs funded in FY14 include the A+ Scholarship Program, the Foundation Program and Access Missouri.
