Missing Girls Found, Father Arrested

BRANSON, Mo.– Two missing girls have been found, and their was father was arrested Friday afternoon.

BRANSON, Mo.– Two missing girls have been found, and their was father was arrested Friday afternoon.

According to the Branson Police Department, Arkansas State Police took John Russell Fant into custody.  The arrest was made in Boone County, Arkansas.

A concerned citizen in Arkansas contacted the authorities after observing what they thought was the suspect’s vehicle. 

Farrah Fant and Delilah Fant have been taken into protective custody.  The girls, ages 8 and 6, were reported missing Thursday night in Branson. 

Branson Assistant Police Chief Stan Dobbins said the two girls had been placed in the custody of their grandparents, and that after the father took the, there were indications that the father did not plan on returning to the area.

"He had made some purchases that indicated he was probably going to go camping," Dobbins said.

Police said the mother of the girls is in California and that she has been notified.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol had issued an Endangered Person Notification in this case. 

John Fant has been charged with two counts of Interference with Custody.
