UPDATE: MARSHFIELD, Mo.-- Marshfield Police say male released from hospital, female in serious condition, and alleged shooter in custody.

PREVIOUS: MARSHFIELD, Mo. – Marshfield police today are investigating a double shooting at a home in the 300 block of Fulton Avenue in Marshfield.

Police Chief Doug Fannen said a suspect has been arrested at a location near the home where the two were shot and the neighborhood is secure.

The incident began about 4 a.m., when police received a report of the shootings and found one man and one woman shot at the residence near the intersection of Fulton and Bedford.

Both were taken to a hospital for treatment of their injuries. The man was released and the woman is in serious condition, Fannen said.

The relationship between the two injured people is not know, Fannen said, but it is believed they both knew the person suspected of shooting them, he said.

There was a history of police being called to the address, he said.
