The Nikkei is up 31 points today in Japan.
The Dow gained 16 Monday.
The Nasdaq was up 30.

The post office says it suffered a net loss of two billion dollars in the third quarter. That means it won't be able to meet an almost $ billion payment due for its retiree health care fund in September. The Postal Service has failed to make any health care payments for the last three years - and has asked Congress to pass legislation to help reduce the burden of financing the benefits.

Wall Street saw an up day yesterday despite market losses in Asia and Europe. Easing tensions between Russia and Ukraine helped bolster the market.

Chiquita - the brand synonymous with bananas - has received a buyout offer valued at more than $600 million.  The unsolicited bid from investment firm Safra Group and juice company Cutrale -  comes as Chiquita is in the midst of  negotiating its own deal with an Irish based company to merge and become the world's largest banana supplier.

And if you're in the market for a new TV,  one brand just made its pricing more affordable. LG will sell its second generation 55-inch oled model for $3,500 at Best Buy. The original model sold for $15,000 when it launched last year.
