The Federal Reserve meets this week for its first two-day policy meeting, and a national report on industrial production is expected to show an increase.

On Wall Street Friday, U.S. consumer sentiment, a measure of how Americans view the health of the economy, has weakened.

That's according to the preliminary Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan index.

Sentiment fell to 79.9 in March, from 81.6 the prior month.
