The Nikkei is up 176 points today in trading in Tokyo.
Wall Street rebounded from the start of the week and ended on a high note Tuesday.
On Wall Street, the Dow was up nearly 228 points Tuesday.
And the Nasdaq finished 74 points higher.

U.S. home prices rose in January after three months of declines.
A tight supply of homes might have helped boost prices and offset sales slowed by cold weather.

General Motors' new CEO is starting an internal review of the company's practices.
Last week, GM doubled the number of vehicles included in a global recall of 1.6 million small cars for faulty ignition switches.
Those switches have been linked to 13 deaths.

United Airlines is cracking down on passengers with oversized carry-on bags.
The airline has installed new bag-sizers at most airports.
United says there is no change in policey, just a campaign to improve passenger awareness.
Carry on luggage can be no larger than 9 inches by 14 inches by 22.
If you go over the size limit, the airline will charge you $25.
