The Nikkei is up 104 points today in trading in Japan.
On Wall Street, the Dow lost 34 points Monday.
The Nasdaq dipped almost 2 points.

The share of Americans without health insurance is dropping to the lowest levels since President Barack Obama took office.
That's according to the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index.
It found that 15.9 percent of U.S. adults are uninsured, thus far in 2014.
That's down from 17.1 percent for the last three months of 2013.
The end of open enrollment season for Obamacare is March 31.

Apple released its latest operating system update, for mobile devices.
The update is supposed to provide a simpler, cleaner look to the software.
The biggest change--support for Carplay, the new feature that integrates your iPhone with a car's in-dash display panel.
Right now, no cars currently on the market work with Carplay.
It's expected to be available in certain models later this year.

United Rentals says it's buying National Pump, the second-largest pump rental company in North America, for $780 million.  
National Pump rents equipment mainly to the oil, gas and petro-chemical industries.
United Rentals says the purchase is part of its strategy, to expand specialty businesses.
