The Nikkei is up 43 points today in trading in Tokyo.
The crisis in Iraq has driven up the price of crude oil four percent this month and has investors wary.
The markets were up slightly Monday.
The Dow gained 5 points.
And the Nasdaq was up 10.


General Motors is recalling more than 3.1 million additional cars with ignition switch problems. The recall involves numerous models made from 2000 to 2014 including some Cadillac Deville's, Chevy Impalas and Buick Regals.
It has been more than four months since the automaker first recalled 2 point 6 million cars for faulty ignition switches. The company has repaired only 7 percent of those vehicles.

It's a win for Macy's without any big rewards.
A New York State Supreme Court ruled in favor of the retailer's claim that JC Penney interfered with a contract with Martha Stewart Living merchandise.
However, the judge says Penney did not act with malice and is not liable to pay punitive damages.
