The Nikkei is down 265 points today in trading in Japan.
On Wall Street, the Dow closed down 31 Wednesday.
And the Nasdaq gained 10.

Congress has passed legislation that will allow the US Government to pay its bills.The measure now goes to the President for his signature.
The legislation is required so the government can pay for budget items like pension benefits, federal salaries, and health care programs for the elderly and the poor.

Many Americans are still struggling to recover from the housing bust. 124,000 homeowners received  foreclosure notices on their properties in January. That's better than last year..but RealtyTrac says it shows some states are still not out of the woods. The highest rates of foreclosure were in Florida, Nevada, and Maryland.

This was not your average pothole in Kentucky. A giant sinkhole took down part of the National Corvette Museum. The 40-foot crater damaged eight of the iconic cars, including a model from 1962. The museum is in Bowling Green, which is the only place where General Motors builds the Corvette.
