The Nikkei is down 154 points today in Japan.
On Wall Street, the Dow rose 31 points Friday.
The Nasdaq dropped 15.

This week investors will find out if Americans are shopping again.
Reports on  retail sales and consumer sentiment are due in the coming days.

The Labor Department said Friday the economy added 175,000 jobs in February.
The unemployment rate inched up to 6.7-percent, from 6-point-6, because more Americans started looking for work.

The federal government is ordering child seat maker--Graco to explain why it didn't include 1 point 8 million infant seats in a recent recall for faulty buckles.
Graco has until march 20 to explain why last month's recall of 3 point 8 million child seats, didn't include infant seats, which have the same buckles that can get stuck on the child seats.
Graco has said the child seat buckles get stuck, because children drop food or drinks on them.

Credit card companies Mastercard and Visa say they've formed a new cross-industry group, to enhance "payment system security."
The new group plans to focus on the adoption of computer chips that store information, rather than on traditional magnetic strips.
The new cards, with the chips are supposed to be harder to counterfeit, and better protect sensitive data through encryption.
