The Nikkei is up 450 points today in Tokyo.
On Wall Street, the markets were closed Monday for President's Day.

The White House has released a report about the $800-billion Recovery Act. It was passed 5 years ago to help with the economic crisis.
The report says the law created and saved an average of 1.6 million jobs a year for four years.
The recovery act had a minimal impact on the nation's debt according to the report.

More snow and ice  is expected on the East Coast today  - and one financial analyst says this winter has caused $50-billion in lost productivity.
Municipalities are also spending more on salt and snow removal, retail sales are down and more than 75-thousand flights have been cancelled since early December.

Remember the movie "Back To The Future"?  Those self tying  high tops from the 1989 blockbuster are about to become a reality. Nike announced it will reveal its  self tying laces in 2015, which happens to be the same year the shoes are introduced in the film.
