Long, Evans Win 7th District Primaries

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The candidates are determined for November's election for 7th District Congress in southwest Missouri.

Incumbant Rep. Billy Long (R) won his primary election against Marshall Works, by 62% of the vote.

The final numbers in this race:
Billy Long   55,489  62%
Marshall Works   33,492  38%

Long will face Democrat and Libertarian candidates in the November general election.

Democrat Jim Evans, a retired math teacher, defeated Genevieve Williams with 54% of the vote.

The final numbers in this race:
Jim Evans    8,668  54%
Genevieve Williams  7,455   46%

Long and Evans will be joined by Libertarian Kevin Craig in the November race.  Craig was unopposed in Tuesday's primary.
