Hello! I'm Lindsey Day, a meteorologist here in the KOZL and KOLR10 weather lab. I grew up in one of the snowiest places in the country, Syracuse, NY. In 2005, my family decided to switch out the snow storms for sunshine so we moved down to Orlando, FL. Little did we know, we moved just in time to experience the most active hurricane season in recorded history. This is when I became extremely fascinated by the power of storms.
I know here in the Midwest you may not be too familiar with hurricanes, but storms are no stranger to you! I'm excited to be in the Ozarks where I can continue to witness storms and keep you safe from them!
I've spent the past six years studying weather at Florida State University, where I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Meteorology. All of my summers were tied up with meteorology internships at TV stations in Orlando, and Fox News Channel in New York City.
As a graduate student, I spent my weekdays in the hurricane research lab at FSU and weekends as a meteorologist at WCTV, the CBS affiliate in Tallahassee, FL. My graduate school thesis focused on improving hurricane track forecasting methods. I presented my findings at the annual American Meteorological Society in 2012, and I'm in the process of publishing my paper. I've had the honor of receiving awards for my work in meteorology.
In addition to being a weather fanatic, I'm also a health and fitness fanatic! If I'm not talking weather, I'm probably in the gym working out. I've trained for several fitness competitions and received several awards.
Tune in to KOZL at 9 p.m. and KOLR10 at 10 p.m. on the weekends for your weather with me! The weather fascinates me so I never get tired of talking about it.
