Lady Panthers Back In NCAA Tourney

The Drury women's basketball team is back in the D2 NCAA Tourney.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Drury Lady Panthers are also hosting the NCAA Midwest Regional.

So for the first time in school history, Drury will host both a mens and womens regional in the same year.

And like the men, the Lady Panthers are the top seed.

Steve Huber's team will tip off the NCAA Tournament Friday night at six against Truman State.

Truman State is a first year member of the Great Lakes Valley but won the conference tournament after the Lady Panthers were stunned in the opening round.

The Drury women are 12-1 at home this season and are thrilled to get the Lady Panthers back into the NCAA tournament.

"That's really exciting because last year was kind of a struggle for us," said Drury forward Williamson.  "This year is super exciting to go from 14-13 to our awesome record this year.  To be in the NCAA tournament March Madness is such a great time.."

"I'm so excited.  At Minnesota I never got to the NCAA.  So being able to get here is a dream come true," said Drury center Amber Dvorak. "I'm so excited.  I'm with the best teammates, best coaches and best fans.  So I'm really excited."
