Lady Bears Tip-Off Homestand

The Lady Bears will play the next four game at home.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Missouri State Lady Bears will open up a four game homestand Friday night when they host Evansville.

The Lady Bears will be coming into the game after surviving a nailbiter at Illinois State Monday night.

Missouri State lost a 12 point lead in the second half but held onto win 75-72.

The homestand will feature teams from the bottom half of the Valley standings.

So coach Kellie Harper is hoping her Lady Bears can take build some momentum as they start the second half of the conference season.

Evansville may be 2-5 in the Valley but they're dangerous.

"They have the leagues's leading scorer in a freshman," said Lady Bears coach Kellie Harper.  "And she's going to get a lot of shots up.  So our defense cannot let her get hot.  They have other shooters that can go with her.  They may have struggled but they do have some pieces that can be very dangerous.."

"It's always good to be home having our home base behind us," said Lady Bears forward NiJay Gaines.  "They're a great support system. And it's always good to play at home.  We're looking forward to getting a four game winning streak especially having everyone behind us."
