Kickapoo Advances To District Championship

Kickapoo beats Ozark 45-14.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo-High school football teams across the Ozarks continued their march toward St. Louis and the state championships Wednesday night.

Some teams were getting their first taste of playoff football because they had first round byes.

One of those teams, the 9-0 Kickapoo Chiefs who were hosting 5-5 Ozark in Class 5 District 5.

And Ozark would go on top early, this is a 27 yard field goal by Hudson Speer and it's 3-nothing Tigers.

But Kickapoo would answer with two touchdowns in two minutes, the second here on fourth and goal, Anthony Cooper to Jamariquen Green with a nine yard touchdown pass it's 14-3 Chiefs.

Ozark threatening fourth and goal from the one, and Kickapoo with a defensive stand, Caleb Essick tries to take it in on the left side, but Kelton Reeves is there for the stop.

And it's still 14-3.

And Kickapoo goes onto win 45-16.
