JOPLIN, Mo -- A woman from Joplin will go to prison for child abuse for the malnutrition of a roommate's young daughter.
JOPLIN, Mo -- A woman from Joplin will go to prison for child abuse for the malnutrition of a roommate's young daughter.

A judge Monday sentenced Christina Haidle, 27, to 15 years in prison. Haidle plead guilty to child abuse charges back in December.

She was originally charged with child endangerment. Haidle and her roommate, Beth Williams, were both charged after Williams' 3-year-old daughter was rushed to the hospital in July 2012 suffering from extreme malnutrition.

Court papers show the child weighed just 12 pounds and had a blood sugar level of zero, a body temperature too low to register, and a pulse so faint CPR had to be administered.

Doctors considered the condition so severe as to be life threatening. Williams plead guilty to the crime back in November, she's expected to be sentenced next month.
