OZARK, Mo. - A family from Ozark, Missouri is without a home today after a fire early today east of town.

Darren White, fire chief of the Ozark Fire Protection District, said fire fighters from Ozark and three other departments battled the blaze reported just before 5 a.m. The home at McCracken Road and Missouri 14 was a total loss, he said.

No one was at home at the time of the blaze, White said. The family’s name was not available, but neighbors told fire fighters that a woman and her three children lived in the house.

A cause of the blaze has not yet been determined, White said. A state inspector was on scene at 8 a.m. today to investigate.

Fire fighters from Sparta, Nixa and Logan-Rogersville fire departments also fought the fire, he said, and they were assisted by the Christian County Fire Corps, which provides support services to fire fighters.
