SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Springfield Victory Mission will be a very busy place the next two days, providing holiday meals to the homeless and lonely.

The charity will serve Thanksgiving meals including turkey and all the trimmings.

According to a news release issued by The Victory Mission, chefs are able to put together a complete holiday meal for just $2.30 per person.

The Thanksgiving Eve and Thanksgiving Day meals will be served at Cook’s Kettle Restaurant on 200 W. Commercial, and are open to anyone who needs a meal and people who have nowhere else to go for the holiday.

The Great Thanksgiving Banquet is at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Eve and a Thanksgiving Brunch is at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.  Students from the Victory Trade School will prepare the food.  Volunteers will serve.   Then the Mission's Thanksgiving Day Celebration Service and Dinner is scheduled for 5 p.m., hosted by volunteers from Second Baptist Church.

The Victory Mission is still accepting donations to help make the meals possible.   They can be made online at www.victorymission.com,  or sending a check payable to Springfield Victory Mission, P.O. Box 2884, Springfield, MO 65801.
