Haith Hired as New Tulsa Basketball Coach

TULSA, Ok--Frank Haith leaves Mizzou to coach at Tulsa.
TULSA, Ok--After three years at Mizzou, the Frank Haith era is over. Haith resigned as the Tigers basketball coach this morning, and took over at Tulsa this afternoon. And Golden Hurricane basketball welcomed their new coach with open arms.

Tulsa introduced Haith saying it's a new chapter for the Hurricanes. Reports say Haith gets a seven year contract worth nearly two million dollars a year.

The University is moving to the American Athletic Conference this summer, the same conference as national champion, UCONN.

Haith was at Miami when it moved to the ACC, and was at Mizzou when it transitioned into the SEC.

The 48-year old also took full responsibility for his run-in's with the NCAA that included a five game suspension at the beginning of this season.

"There is a commitment here folks.  I'll just say that.  There's a commitment to a championship program and continue a legacy that's been here before.  We won at Arkansas for the first time in the history of the school.  By the way we're going to try to get Mike Anderson to come over here and play us.  People talk about the rivalry that Mike and I have, we'd like to keep it going Michael," said the Frank Haith.
