UPDATE: Free Kids Fishing Fun Day Postponed

The Springfield-Greene County Park Board and the Missouri Department of Conservation rescheduled the 33rd Annual Kids Fishing Fun Day for Sunday.
UPDATE -- The Springfield-Greene County Park Board and the Missouri Department of Conservation rescheduled the 33rd Annual Kids Fishing Fun Day for Sunday, June 8, at Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park.

The Springfield-Greene County Park Board and the Missouri Department of Conservation host the 33rd Annual Kids Fishing Fun Day, Saturday, June 7.

The free event for kids ages 3-13 is at a new location this year - Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park, 3825 W. Farm Road 146, Springfield.
The farm's pond will be stocked with channel catfish and sunfish.  Each child may catch and keep up to three fish.

Children need to bring their own rod and reel, bait and stringer.  Lessons on how to fish and clean the catch will be Conservation Department staff.

Parents must register their child to fish at a specific time:-  8, 9:15, 10:30 or 11:45 a.m.   Register at parkboard.org or call 417-864-1049. Limited registration is also available on-site Saturday morning.
