Firetruck Caught in Sinkhole on Way to Fire

INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis Fire Department engine got stuck in a sinkhole on the city's south side on Monday night.
INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis Fire Department engine got stuck in a sinkhole on the city's south side on Monday night.

According to IFD, the engine was on its way to a fire when the incident happened. The fire was minimal in an unoccupied residence.

Officials say the sinkhole is 4 feet x 8 feet deep. No one was hurt. Officials are unclear as to how much damage the fire apparatus sustained.

Around 10:30 p.m., fire officials said it would be a while before the engine would be removed from the sinkhole.

 A wrecker was called to the scene Monday night.
