SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Federal Bureau of Investigation has released new photos of Gary Orrick, 41, who allegedly ran from Greene County deputies Thursday.

The Greene County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol set up a perimeter to search for Orrick. The FBI said he is wanted for a federal firearms violation.

According to the FBI, Orrick is approximately 5 feet and 9 inches, 160 pounds, with blue eyes and reddish-blonde facial hair. Orrick has multiple tattoos on his body including his arms, chest, head and the back of the neck which has the initials DSTRBD.

The FBI says Orrick should be considered armed and dangerous.  You are asked to not confront him, but to contact law enforcement immediately.

As police searched for Orrick Thursday afternoon, however, area residents say they couldn't help but go outside and check it out.

"There was like seven or eight police cars out here, parked in front of the driveway," says James Lindsey. "So I put on my shoes and came and stood up by the garage. The cars were out here, the K9s were out here. The helicopter was going over and over. And it was like a non-stop thing."

Lindsey says it was all a very strange sight in his neck of the woods.

"Very little crime out here and you just don't see that type of stuff out here," he says. "Lot of police cars and helicopters going over and over and over and over. You just don't see that type of stuff out here."

Carver Middle School and Jeffries Elementary School were on lockdown during the search, but students were later released when police determined Orrick was no longer in the area.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Gary Orrick should contact their local law enforcement agency or the FBI at (417) 882-3303.
