Elderly Driver Killed Near Diamond, MO

DIAMOND, Mo. -- A medical problem apparently contributed to a fatal traffic crash in Newton County, Missouri, the Highway Patrol reports.
DIAMOND, Mo. -- A medical problem apparently contributed to a fatal traffic crash in Newton County, Missouri, the Highway Patrol reports.

The crash was Thursday night on Highway 59 just south of Diamond, Missouri.

Ronald McDermott, 81, of Granby, Missouri, died when the driver of an oncoming car apparently had a medical issue and lost control of his car.

Troopers say the car, driven by William Littlechild, 66, of Carthage, crossed the center line and hit McDermott's vehicle.  Littlefield and his wife, Hellen, were seriously injured.
