SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Today was Eco-Palooza on the Missouri State campus.
Several groups set-up displays to raise awareness about reducing the use of fossil fuels and promoting renewable energy.
Two new solar tables were also installed today. Vickie Kepling, a member of Students for a Sustainable Future, explained the benefits, “It’s going to provide attractive seating for students. They can sit outside and do their work or socialize. Secondly, it’s going to give them a place to recharge their devices, and then third it’s going to show them that there’s alternative energy sources, because these tables will be run completely from solar power.”
Missouri State is also in a competition with Mizzou to decrease energy use.
