Driver in Crash That Killed Toddler Held for Manslaughter

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. -- A 2-year old boy has died and 6 other people were injured in a crash Saturday. The driver was jailed on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter.
CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo.-- A crash in Camden County has taken the life of a 2-year-old boy.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:15 pm Saturday, Aug. 23, on West Branch Road at the Camden and Hickory County line.

Kaygyn J. Dority, 2, of Roach, Mo. was pronounced dead at the scene by the Camden County medical examiner.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2006 Ford Pickup truck traveling westbound was carrying 6 other passengers when the crash occurred.
Everyone in the truck had minor to serious injuries and troopers say no one was wearing a seat belt.

The Patrol's report states that the driver lost control of the vehicle and the truck traveled off of the side of the roadway, struck a tree, and flipped over.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of involuntary  manslaughter, assault and not having children in safety seats.  They were released from jail pending the filing of formal charges.

Four of the seven people in the truck were under the age of 8.
