Colorado Man Drowns at Lake of the Ozarks

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo.-- A man from Englewood, Co. drowned July 4 at the Lake of the Ozarks after falling off of a pontoon boat.
CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo.-- A man from Englewood, Co. drowned July 4 at the Lake of the Ozarks after falling off of a pontoon boat.

The accident occurred at around 4:30 pm on July 4 at the 4 mile marker Grand Glaize Arm at Anderson Hollow Cove at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Justin A. Byrd, 30, of Englewood, Co. was recovered from the lake deceased after the victim fell off the back of the vessel into the water.

The vessel was anchored with numerous other boats at the time of the accident.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Byrd was submerged for around 5 minutes before others realized that he was missing.

This is Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F’s third drowning in 2014.
