Chiefs Beat the Heat on Day 2

It was hot in St. Joseph for day two of Chiefs training camp. KOLR10's Megan Rice reports.
ST. JOSEPH, Mo--Chiefs camp continued Tuesday in the heat of St. Joseph.

The veterans are still a couple of days away from reporting.

Right now the rookies and free agents are getting the bulk of the attention.

KOLR 10's Megan Rice is in St. Joe and has this camp report.

Megan Rice/KOLR 10 Sports: Thanks Dan I'm here in St. Joseph reporting from day two of Chiefs training camp and our KC Blitz coverage.

It was very hot day two, of light practice without pads afterwhich we caught up with last years first round draft pick Eric Fisher.

He's coming off a shoulder injury, so this was his first day of training camp.

We also caught up with this year's first round draft choice Dee Ford.

"I think what they want to see from any rookie is maturity and growing from OTA's to minicamps to a little break to now is growth," said Dee Ford.

"There hasn't been any challenges," said Eric Fisher.  "As soon as I could do what I could do, I was in there working and I took care of business.  It's not about pressure, it's about doing your job and blocking everything else out.  I'm glad to be back in my home position.  But I'm ready to get back to work like I said."

Megan Rice: And Dan the veterans won't report to camp until Thursday.

But they will be available to the media tomorrrow so we'll get you sound from that tomorrow at six.

Meanwhile we're gathering reports here for our KC Blitz that starts at 6:30 August 7th before the Chiefs first preseason game against the Bengals.

In St. Joseph, Megan Rice, KC Blitz.

Thanks Megan, here's a look at our K.C. Blitz schedule for the preseason.

These are half hour shows that we're putting together at Chiefs camp this summer.

The first is August 7th, we're also doing K.C. Blitz shows on Saturday, August 23rd and Thursday the 28th, that's at 5:30 p.m.

All the pregame shows and the Chiefs preseason games are on the Z.
