Change of Venue Denied for Murder Suspect

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A man accused of killing a Greene County couple was denied his request for a change of venue Monday in Greene County Circuit Court and was set for trial in February of 2015.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A man accused of killing a Greene County couple was denied his request for a change of venue Monday in Greene County Circuit Court and was set for trial in February of 2015.

Jose Huckleberry is charged with first degree murder in the 2011 deaths of Donald and Helen Willingham. Court documents allege the 25-year-old stabbed the husband and wife after breaking into their home.

Judge Dan Conklin denied Huckleberry’s request for a change of venue and set aside two weeks of courtroom time beginning Feb. 2, 2015 for a trial on two counts of first degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and one count of burglary.

He is to appear for a pre-trial conference on Nov. 20.

Huckleberry remains in the Greene County Jail without bond.
