Cards Win On A Walkoff Homer

The Springfield Cardinals won a pitchers duel with Tulsa on a ninth inning homer.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Springfield Cardinals continued their long homestand Tuesday night against Tulsa.

Monday night, the Cardinals won a rain shortened game, 5-3.

That snapped a two game Driller winning streak.

Springfield was hoping to split the four game set with a victory.

And this was a pitchers duel, Sam Gaviglio on the hill for Springfield, and he strikes out Ryan Casteel swinging and then Travis Tartamella guns down Christian Adames to end the first.

Gaviglio with more in the second he gets Harold Riggins swinging.

The Ashland, Oregon native was on fire, here he gets Jared Simon to end the second.

But Tulsa's Jonathan Gray just as strong, he gets Jonathan Rodriguez swinging, he had a no hitter when he was pulled in the fifth.

Gaviglio gets Delta Clarey Junior, Gaviglio went seven innings with 11 strikeouts.

It was 1-1 in the bottom of the ninth when Jacob Wilson wins it with a walkoff homer, Cards win 2-1.
