Cards Prep For Decisive Game Five

David Freese and Tony La Russa talk about game five.
(St. Louis, MO)--The St. Louis Cardinals are heading back to the city of Brotherly Love with two wins stuck in their back pocket, and a load of confidence as their division series with Philadelphia is all tie up at two games apiece.

Wednesday night, St. Louis product David Freese came up big for the Cardinals.

He belted a two run double in the fourth and a two run homer in the sixth to provide most of the offense in the Cards 5-3 win over the Phillies.

Friday, St. Louis will send out its ace Chris Carpenter against their ace Roy Halladay.

"That's what Carp wants, he wants to win, said David Freese.  "He wants that ball in game five.  And he's going to be ready.  He knows what he's going to go up against in Philly in Halladay, their offense.  They understand we're going to bring our A game."

"It's really fun to compete against somebody at that high level because they're doing things that are championship like," said St. Louis manager Tony La Russa.  "And we try to compete with them.  It's been a fun series.  And having it go five is a good statement of how good they are and how good we've stepped up."
