SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a driver that refused to pull over, later crashed into a yard and tried to run from the scene.

It happened Friday night on West Division near West Bypass in Springfield.  Sergeant Mark Trader said he first tried to stop the car near Chestnut Expressway and I-44 for a registration violation.

Sgt. Trader said the driver then sped off, and there was a short pursuit.  The trooper then stopped chasing because he felt the situation was too dangerous.  A short time later, the suspect crashed into a yard, hitting two parked vehicles.

Sgt. Trader said the driver then jumped through the sun roof, and ran off.  Another trooper caught the man a short time later.  Two women were also in the car, they were taken to the hospital with injuries.  The driver also complained of injuries, and was taken to the hospital.

A woman was sitting on the porch at the home where the crash occurred, and the trooper said a headlight hit her on the arm.

The driver will likely face a felony fleeing charge, and will be taken to the Greene County Jail when released from the hospital.
