UPDATE: Police Identify Boy Who Died After Fall From Third-Story Window

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Police are investigating after a 4-year-old boy fell out of a third story window in downtown Springfield and died.
UPDATE - SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- According to Springfield Police Spokeswoman Lisa Cox, a 4-year-old boy died in the hospital Sunday night after falling from a third-story window.

Cox says preliminary reports show the window was open and the boy pushed the screen out.

According to Cox, the boy has been identified as Ashton J. Twibell.

Police are reviewing reports to see if further investigation is warranted.

A memorial fund has been set up for the Ashton under his name at Empire Bank.  If you would like to contribute, checks may be made out to Empire Bank with an indicator to the Ashton Twibell account.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield police are investigating after a four year old fell out of a third story window Sunday night.

Lieutenant Chad Eutsler says it happened just before 8:30 p.m. at a loft in the 200 block of East Walnut Street downtown.

Police say bystanders were giving the boy first aid when they arrived. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officers are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall.
