Chris the Critic from the Missouri Film Alliance joins us once again to dish on the latest and greatest box office hits and must-see movies.  This week, another summer blockbuster is out for the holiday weekend!

NEW THIS WEEK:
For the Memorial Day Weekend Holiday there are a couple of biggies to choose from:
X-MEN:  DAYS OF FUTURE PAST - The X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event than results in doom for both humans and mutants.  Love the cast of Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence,  James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Halle Barry, Ellen Page, Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart and so many more!
BLENDED - Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore star in this flick about a bad blind date.  After the bad date, the couple finds themselves stuck together at a resort for families, where their attraction grows and their kids benefit from the relationship.

TOPS AT THE BOX OFFICE:
GODZILLA - The flick had the best opening weekend of 2014!  WOW!  I haven’t wanted a movie to be over this bad since THE LONE RANGER last year starring Johnny Depp.  It was too long, too gray, not enough Godzilla.  I can appreciate all the effort put into the special effects …but, I can’t appreciate wasting talented actors like Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen.
I’d see MILLION DOLLAR ARM instead … the Disney film about the true story of the agent who found two major league baseball prospects in India.  Great touching film starring Jon Hamm,.

NEW ON DVD:
THE MONUMENTS MEN - This is a film about an unlikely World War II platoon who is tasked to rescue masterpieces from Nazi thieves.  Sadly it’s too slow and too boring.  This is super sad as it has a wickedly stellar cast of George Clooney, Matt Damon, and John Goodman.
3 DAYS TO KILL - I actually liked this movie about a dying CIA agent trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter while he is offered an experimental drug that could save his life in exchange for one last assignment.  And, I’m just sort of “eh” on Kevin Costner.

LOCALLY:
Take a look at my Facbebook page or search You Tube for TREEHOUSE (2014) official teaser trailer and take a look at a feature that was shot & directed here in the Ozarks by Michael Bartlett. A slew of the crew is local talent as well AND there will be an upcoming LOCAL premiere SOON.  I’ll keep you posted!
One more reminder … about a local project!  Jasion Brasier’s WEB SERIES … DRIFTER:  LONESOME HIGHWAY premieres NEXT WEDNESDAY … drifterseries.com … DON’T MISS IT!
