Bowe Suspended

KANSAS CITY, Mo--The Chiefs Dwayne Bowe will miss the first game of the regular season.
KANSAS CITY, Mo--The Kansas City Chiefs announced Friday that wide receiver Dwayne Bowe will be suspended for one game for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

The receiver is eligible to play the remainder of the preseason but will miss the KC's week one match up with the Titans.

Bowe was arrested this November in Riverside, Missouri for possession of marijuana. In April, he pleaded guilty to lesser charges.

Bowe had 57 receptions last season for 673 yards and 5 touchdowns. He is by far the most experienced receiver on the Chiefs roster. Bowe has a total of 472 career catches in the league.

In a statement Bowe said, "I am extremely sorry that I can't be on the field for the first game of the 2014 season because I made an error in judgment. I take responsibility for my mistake and it will not happen again."
