SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Child abuse is in the spotlight today in Springfield.  U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo) will be in town to discuss the Victims of Child Abuse Act in the Senate.

A bill has been pending in the Senate since December, that would reauthorize the act and increase funding from $15 million to $17.5 million for the next 5 years.

The money is used to fund grants to agencies that work with victims of child abuse.

Blunt will make his comments on the re-authorization at an appearance at the Child Advocacy Center on E. Walnut at 3:30 this afternoon.
