Bears Can't Hold on in Overtime

SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Missouri State can't complete the upset on No. 6 Wichita State.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Saturday night, Missouri State hosting No. 6 Wichita State. The 6th ranked Shockers are the highest ranked oppenents the Bears have ever played at home.

A nine straight home game winning streak on the line for the Bears.

In the first half, it's Shockers Darius Carter with the inside move. That ties it at 15.

Then, the rest of the half the Bears went on an offensive tear. It's the dish to Tyler McCullough with authority, pumping the crowd up. Ten point Bears lead.

MSU hitting the long range shots as Marcus Marshall, with the three. That makes it 40-24.

Before the half, it's Jarmar Gulley off the nice feed. 42-24 MSU

But with seconds to play in regulation Fred Vanvleet with a chance to win it misses the free throw and Dorrian Williams the other way. Last second shot comes up short.

In overtime, Vanvleet wouldn't make the same mistake

That free throw helps Wichita State survive 72-69 the final.

"Well, I am dissapointed for them. It hurts cause they played. We have come a long way since last year and have been pretty consistent at times this year," said Bears coach Paul Lusk.
