Bears Bounce Back

SPRINGFIELD, Mo-- Bears bounce back to beat Drake after losing on the road against Southern Illinois.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Missouri State Bears were looking for a bounce back victory Wednesday at JQH Arena. And it seemed they had the perfect foe in town, Drake. The Bulldogs came into the game, 1-21 against the Bears in Springfield. Drake's last win in Springfield was in 2001.
     
Missouri State playing tough defense, get the turnover, Jarmar Gulley with the pull up jumper it's 8-7 Bears.
     
Then, the kick back to Emmanuel Addo with the three from the wing, it's 13-10 Bears.
     
But, Drake would match Missouri State, Richard Carter with the three pointer we're tied at 13.

Then, the senior Keith Pickens takes it to the rack hard, and the foul it's 30-24 Missouri State after the free throw.
     
Drake keeps hanging around, Aaron Hawley with a deep, deep three, two point game.

But, Drake ties it up on this Carter slash to the hole, 33-33.
     
Missouri State led by three at halftime.
     
But Drake takes the lead early in the second half on this Hawkley layup 40-39 Bulldogs.
      
Missouri State retakes the lead, Jarmar Gulley with this layup it's 43-40 Bears.
      
Pickens with a big game, he gets this hoop, he finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and Missouri State wins again in Springfield 69-63.      

"Well, I don't know that he is healthy, but a playable Keith Pickens. They pounded us on the glass at their place and you look at the rebounding numbers today on the 50/50 balls he makes all the difference in the world," said Bears basketball coach Paul Lusk.
