Beard and Mustache Competition Raises Money for Rare Breed

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- Competitors are asked to show off their facial hair for a good cause at the 5th Annual bread and mustache competition to benefit Rare Breed.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo.--Competitors are asked to show off their facial hair for a good cause at the 5th Annual bread and mustache competition to benefit Rare Breed.

The Queen City Beard and Mustache Federation will host this year’s competition May 3 at the 319 Event Center in Springfield.

The event will begin with a Junior Beard or Mustache category at 5 pm, where contestants are allowed to be under the age of 17.

The adult competition consisting of 13 different categories will begin at 6 pm.

The entry fee is $5 for junior competitors and $15 for adults, all going to benefit Rare Breed of Springfield.

An after-party begins at 10 pm at Patton Alley Pub where competition wrist bands get you in free, or a $5 donation is required.

The Queen City Beard and Mustache Federation began in 2009 and since then has raised more than $16,000 for local non-profits.
