BATTLEFIELD, Mo.-- Battlefield Fire receives an award during a Fire Association convention May 4.

The Fire Fighters Association of Missouri presented awards to the Battlefield Fire Protection District during their annual banquet.

The FFAM honored the district as the Fire Department of the Year. The award is based upon performance in four categories: Fire suppression efforts, Fire prevention programs, Inspections, & Public relations.

The Battlefield Fire Protection District received several letters of recommendation for the award from many local organizations, including other area fire departments.

The Battlefield Fire Chief Bryan Newberry was also presented with the Fire Chief of the Year award during the ceremony.

“It is an honor to be nominated, and ultimately be recognized by the FFAM for this award,” Deputy Fire Chief Scott Moore said. “These accomplishments are possible largely because of the support of our community and cooperation with our surrounding departments. We are very proud to be a representative of our community.”
