SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A man charged with murder after the death of a bicyclist pleads not guilty.

Blake Basten, 24, of Springfield, was arraigned Friday morning in Greene County Circuit Court.
He's charged with second degree murder, although he didn't hit the victim.

Greene County Prosecutor Dan Patterson accuses Basten of chasing a woman in traffic.  Her car ran over the cyclist near Missouri State University in November.

Zachary Gibson, 23, was hit and killed in that accident.

Basten also faces charges of tampering with a motor vehicle, property damage, leaving the scene of an accident and resisting arrest.

He is scheduled back in court on March 21.  He is being held in the Greene County Jail on $250,000 bond.
