Back to School Immunizations Begin This Week in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.--The Springfield-Greene County Health Department will begin providing vaccinations for school aged children for the 2014-2015 school year Monday, July 28.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo.--The Springfield-Greene County Health Department will begin providing vaccinations for school aged children for the 2014-2015 school year Monday July 28.

The Springfield-Greene County Health Department’s back-to-school vaccination clinics for Medicaid, uninsured or underinsured children will begin on Monday, July 28 and run through Friday August 22.

The Springfield-Greene County Health Department provides vaccines at no cost for children age 18 and under who meet one of the following criteria:

• Uninsured or Medicaid eligible
• American Indian or Alaskan native
• Underinsured (have insurance that does not cover vaccines) – This does not include those who have a high deductible or co-pay

Children who are VFC eligible (except those with Medicaid) but reside outside Greene County will be charged an administration fee of $21 per visit.

Due the day of immunization will be the cost of the vaccine plus an administration fee.

Walk-in clinics will be held from 8 am to 10 am Monday through Friday at the Westside Public Health Center at 660 S. Scenic Ave. No appointments are necessary.

Participants need to bring the child’s immunization records.
