KANSAS CITY – An Aurora man is accused in the deaths of three people at two Jewish-related sites on Sunday.

Fraizer Glenn Cross, who also goes by Fraizer Glenn Miller, of Aurora, ran for the U.S. House in 2006 and for the Senate as a write-in candidate in 2010.

He made headlines at the time for his controversial political ads and talked to KOLR10 in 2010.

"I'm going to exercise my freedom of speech and engage in the political process to the maximum extent that I can,” he said.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil rights organization, says he is a longtime anti-Semite and former leader for the Ku Klux Klan.

According to CBSNews, a doctor and his grandson were killed outside a Jewish community center and a woman was killed a few minutes later in the parking garage of the Village Shalom Nursing Center on Sunday.

KCTV reports Miller yelled ‘heil Hitler’ as he was taken away in the back of a police car.

Miller reportedly shot at two other people, but missed.

Former KOLR10 reporter Melissa Stern was going into the Jewish community center as shots rang out.

“I'm walking into the building and I hear a loud noise and I duck and it sounded like something exploded,” said Stern. “There's a lot of buildings so I guess the shots echoed. I see two guys running toward me so I start running too and I said are those gunshots and they say yes we just saw a man shoot someone. So I ran inside the JCC and I said someone is shooting people in the parking lot, call 911. So they put the whole place on lockdown. There were little girls in there crying. People were asking me to borrow my phone to call their parents. It was really scary.”

So far, police aren't saying if the shootings are hate crimes.

Frazier Glenn Cross is listed on the Johnson County Kansas Sheriff's Office website charged with premeditated murder in the first degree.

He is being held without bond with an arraignment set for 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

We'll have more information as it becomes available.
