BOONE COUNTY, Ark. – A Harrison man faces numerous charges of rape after police started an investigation into a possible child predator who was seeking companionship with young men.

Jeffrey Hamilton, 43, of Harrison, has been charged with 5 counts of rape after police intercepted a series of online chat messages between him and a juvenile male and ongoing illegal sexual relationships with other juvenile males were uncovered.

While police were executing a search warrant for Hamilton’s home, several computers, cell phones and other items were seized and will be processed by the Arkansas Attorney General’s Computer Forensics Lab for child pornography.

“All crimes are serious, but those involving children take top priority at this office,” says Boone County Sheriff Mike Moore. “For those found guilty of crimes against children, we are hopeful that the Prosecuting Attorney and the judicial system will impose the maximum penalties allowed by law.”

Moore says anyone who feels their child or family member has been a victim of any sexual assault is urged to call the Boone County Sheriff’s Office (870-741-8404) or the Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-482-5964.

Hamilton remains incarcerated at the Boone County Jail under a bond of $250,000.
