Airlines Report Measures Up the Competition

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- New quality ratings show airlines are performing better than travelers might expect.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- New quality ratings show airlines are performing better than travelers might expect.

The 24th annual report from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Wichita State measures airlines' on-time performance, bumped passengers, lost luggage and customer complaints.

Virgin America landed at the top for a second year in a row. Jet blue, Hawaiian, Delta, and Alaska airlines round out the top five.

While fewer passengers overall got bumped from flights, on time performance got worse last year.

Also, the report shows that more people arrived at their destination without their bags.
