LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- On Tuesday, Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe said that a special session will be called to address teacher insurance and prisons.
The session will begin on June 30 at 4 p.m. and last until July 2.
The House and Senate will discuss ways to help with the overcrowding in jails. If the bill is approved, 600 beds will be placed in the Department of Corrections facilities and the Pulaski County Jail.
The session will also look into saving public school employees on their insurance cost by eliminating part-time employees and spouses who have other options for health coverage.
