25 Athletes Sign For Bears Football Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Wednesday was National Signing Day as the Missouri State Bears signed 25 new players.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Wednesday, was National Letter of Intent Signing Day for high school seniors who will be playing fall sports in college. For the most part we're talking football players. Usually, Wednesday's full of proud parents and excited athletes signing letters of intent. That did not happen in the Ozarks because the schools were all closed Wednesday because of snow.

Most of the signing ceremony parties have been pushed back until Thursday. But, the football players did sign their letters early Wednesday morning without TV cameras and faxed them to their schools.

Marshfield quarterback Blayne Armstrong was one of 25 athletes who signed with Terry Allen's Missouri State Bears. Also, on the list Hillcrest quarterback Matt Rush who will move to defensive back at Missouri State.

Coach Terry Allen was excited about this class.

"I am convinced this is the best recruiting class we have ever had. We have got 13 guys from missouri, which is our focal point. I think we have seven guys, to what i am referring to as locally. Two of them are right here from springfield. And i think we cover seven states. It's a good group and i think we hit our mark," said MSU coach Terry Allen.

Of the 25 signees, seven are from the Ozarks, in addition to Armstrong and Rush, Allen signed Willard lineman Jordan Turner, Hillcrest lineman CJ Hubbard and Reeds Spring's Easton Flaugh who will play linebacker.
